For many years, the college’s chapel keyboard and acoustic guitar have served faithfully, though age and constant use have left them in need of frequent repair. As the college weighed the question of replacement — and wondered where the funds might come from — the matter was brought before the Lord in prayer.
The answer came through the generosity of one of our own. Ms. Mami Sinate (Lalengvari), a well-known gospel singer and alumna of the college, took up the cause, mobilizing fellow alumni to raise funds for a new keyboard and guitar for the chapel. To date, their efforts have raised ₹46,000.
What makes this endeavor all the more remarkable is that Ms. Sinate undertakes it while herself battling cancer. Her dedication in the face of such a trial is truly commendable, and we give thanks to the Lord for her spirit and her service. We ask the college community to keep her, and the continued success of this fundraising effort, in prayer — for her health and for the work she has so faithfully begun.
A Gift Given Before a Journey
In a similar spirit of sacrificial giving, Ms. Lailienpui, wife of Elder Sumtho of Rengkai, recently made a special visit to Sielmat Bible College. Suspected of having breast cancer, she is due to travel to New Delhi next week for treatment. Yet even amid this uncertainty, she felt compelled to support the college, donating ₹5,000 — income she collects from renting out her own house.
“I don’t know how long I will live,” she said. “But I wanted to help SBC so much that I had to come and give this amount before our travel to New Delhi.”
We are deeply moved by her faith and generosity, and we ask the college family to hold her in prayer as she travels for treatment.
The college extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who have given, and to all who continue to pray for these two faithful daughters of the institution.
