our story
Sielmat Bible College was established on April 1, 1980. In the beginning, it was called Sielmat Bible School. In 1980, it had only fifteen students, with Rev. D. Ruolngul, B.A., B.D., as the first Principal, assisted by Rev. Lalngaisang and Rev. H.B. Hluothang. Over the past few decades, it has grown in size and strength through the guidance of God. In 1995, it was upgraded to a college under Rev. H.B. Hluothang, B.A., B.D., M. Th. as the Principal. The Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.) program was started in 1995 and Master of Divinity (M. Div.) program in 2020.
SBC LIBRARY
We have a fully equipped library, fully catalogued, but not online at present. We also have roughly 10 computers in the reading room which are connected to the internet for the students to use. This reading room is quite adequate for all the students at the moment. Today, we have more than 12,000 volumes and 10,000+ titles approximately with 500 digital titles. We also have 14 periodicals as well. It would be worthwhile to note that in 2016 we had only around 700 volumes and 4500 titles. We are still procuring more and more books.

Sielmat Bible College offers both the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) and Master of Divinity (M. Div.) Programs.
Both the programs are accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA).
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY
The Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.) Program is an undergraduate Theology course. This course is interdisciplinary, combining biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, and Christian ethics with an optional stream comprising professional ministry studies such as pastoral care, Christian education, and preaching. The duration of the course is three years.
MASTER OF DIVINITY
The degree of Master of Divinity (M.Div.) certifies completion of a program of theological studies designed primarily, although not exclusively, to prepare the student for pastoral ministry. It has become a requirement for all the Pastors of the Independent Church of India to have this degree. The duration of the course is three years. It may be shortened to two under certain conditions.
