1st April, 2024 is the day Sielmat Bible College turns 44.
Sielmat Bible College was established on April 1, 1980 with only 14 students, offering Certificate in Theology (C.Th.). In the beginning, it was called Sielmat Bible School (SBS); and it had only two faculties - Rev. Darsanglien Ruolngul and Rev. Lalngaisang. They were joined in June of the same year by Rev. H.B. Hluothang.
In the beginning, there was nothing to boast of. The floors and walls were mud-floors and mud-walls with a tin roof.
But by 1999, it became a college as it began to offer the B.Th. program. By 2020, it had started to offer the M.Div. program as well. From its humble beginning till today, there had been 589 graduates who are now working as Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers and church leaders working in different capacities all over India and even abroad.
As of 2024, there are 45 students currently studying in Sielmat Bible College.
On March 26, 2024, the SBC held its 39th Graduation Service where seven B.Th. and 12 M. Div. students graduated.
In terms of infrastructure, SBC has come a very very long way. We have recently completed building two Faculty Quarters. We have almost completed a new Dining Hall as well as a huge Chapel. We have also been blessed with sponsors and donors who have sponsored several students and donated tables, chairs and other things for the college.
Please continue to pray for us so that the college may progress even further.
In the end, we give all praises to the Almighty God.
The 39th Graduation Service of the Sielmat Bible College was held on 26th March, 2024 at the Roberts Jubilee Chapel, Sielmat. This year, there were 7 B. Th. graduates and 12 M. Div. graduates. Out of the 12 M. Div. grduates, 6 were ordained Pastors of the Independent Church of India, and they will resume their ministries soon after.
This year, Rev. Vijayesh Lal, General Secretary, Evangelical Fellowship of India delivered the Convocation Address.
Seven Awards were handed over to seven deserving students.
The service was attended by several hundred people. A grand feast was held at the college campus in the evening.
